went down to vauxhall other day and one of the salesmen was saying next year the new corsa will be a 1.6 Twin Turbo???

The twin turbo is technology already being piloted by VW to give big power from small engines, no reason why Vauxhall wouldn't adopt it if it works, but I've not heard anything concrete.
In fact, regarding the next fast Corsa, I've heard nothing but guesswork for years.
Was going to be 1.6 turbo, only just 170/180bhp which Renault are doing normally aspirated, 2.0 turbo was tried but got too hot, fast Corsa project shelved now until Corsa D which is out 2006, will be VXR model and not shy, however that is achieved.

I think they should look into compound charging. VW have with great results on the diesels...
