Help me/ Anybody had any probs with 4pots with the British Weather and corrosion?
Was looking at the 285mm Hi-Spec kit to go under my 15's or maybe V6 much help pics and advice needed.

not to sure the hispec will fit under 15's will it? i know joff has them under 16's.... regarding them coroding, i wouldnt worry about it, jof has washed his car like twice and they are still fine, been on for ages now
v6 are good, i cant fault them to be honest, maybe a bit on the weighty side

I have 284 turbo discs which i got redrilled to 4 stud and spigots made for them.
have not had much time to test them but they feel good  . cost me just under £90 for the whole lot + drilling.

No contest, the high specs are better tna crappy V6 brakes, but you will need to steam clean them weekly to stop them from corroding.. Look for Godspeed brakes, they do a 4 pot set that is designed for road use....

Ive got Godspeed 335mm x 32mm with 4 pots on my P1, a great kit and Ian who owns Godspeed is a top guy and relly helpful.

I would definitely get a 4 pistion kit over the V6 sliding type. More clamping power and spread better over the pad!

yes and 4 times the price!
on my car ive had... normal 1.2 8v brakes, v6 288mm brakes, 305 reyland 4pots, and just now i have 2.0 16v 256mmate setup...
its a corsa! the 256mm is plenty to be honest.... 4 pots look nice but there isnt really any need for them unless your going to be regularly atending track days...

Must admit I had them on my old Corsa and they were gash at best! Pedal feel was pretty damn poor as well!

Yea, they are probably quite good on a rep barge like an Omega or something, as they have the right master cylinder for them and stuff... But fitting them as a performance upgrade baffles me. Though a lot of people disagree

Yeah, agreed! Get a good disc and pad and the 256mm Astra brakes is plenty. It wont affect the bias too much then either.
I had the 256mm Astra brakes on my old Corsa and then the V6 stuff. Didnt rate the V6 stuff at all, I personally think the brake master cylinder struggles with the size of the piston on the V6 calipers.

cant defend the shit pedal feel cos it is quite crap with them... but they stop the car in a heartbeat mine did anyways... dunno how many people commented on how good the brakes seem when i had them in the car...
dont get me wrong 4 pots are better but not better enough to warrent paying the money for them

Yeah, I think the only time you would need 4 pots on a 950kg car is track days. Even then it would only be so you could increase the thickness of the disc to combat fade!

IMO Hi-Spec are a fairly poor make. Seen loads of people (mostly Fords) with a lot of problems with them.
Turbo/V6 setups are ok for the money, but I've done it on my car and seen them on other cars easily get cooked beyond belief!
My brakes have saved me on many an occasion when driving properly 
Took a while to get the setup right though.

I've go tthe std 2ltr setup on my car and i'm unsure why you would want any more.. I mean if th e2ltr brakes are able to stop bardges such as the astra/cav then surely its enough for a corsa!

i have HiSpec 300mm behind 15" wheels
they are good.... and dont need steam cleaned weekly
