Whenever I go on Google and type something in, if I try to click on a link in the search results it takes me to some other web site(s) instead of the one I want to go to.

I did a virus scan recently and it found some CoolWebSearch malware or whatever it's called which has now been removed (I used to get some stupid box on the RHS of my screen with links to random things like porn and insurance whenever I booted up my laptop), I also ran Crap Cleaner and Ad Aware they can't find anything, download BHO Demon and there are no browser helper objects installed.

I am at a loss as to how to sort this annoyance out?!

It seems to redirect to http://85.255.115.162/click.php? <loads of characters here> if that helps.

Clearly still infected with something.

Coolwebsearch is difficult to remove I'm sure.

Yes it was infected with CWS but apparently it's been cleaned off the system now, and further system scans with several utilities cannot detect it on there any more.

Dave - Hijack This, can this be obtained FOC?
