Pros: Good performance gains, reasonably cheap/easy to set up, sound lovely, no electrics (optional) no rev limiter

Cons: Use huge amounts of fuel, requre re-setting up occasionally, ketering ignition system which has problems at high rpm's, no electrics, no rev limiter

As you can see, some pro's are also con's!

Makes: webber, del-auto, strongbow

Yea, why won't it run right?

It'll run fine! You can run 40's or 45's on a 1.6, both can be set up to run well. But ensure you match the size of the carbs to the size of the inlet manifold you get.

a car will never run run as good on carbs as it will on injection. car manufacturers spend millions on the fuel injection.carbs are old technology. go for throttle bodies

Yea, carb's never run as well as fuel injection and hence will use alot more fuel as its being chucked in pretty randomly..

however, a 1.6 on carbs will run alot more power than standard. Plus they are about a quarter of the cost of tb's!
