I was told that because im running my 1.2 shafts and 1.2 gearbox on my car it will slow my acceleration down alot ... this was by someone with a 2 litre corsa... is he right ?

box and shafts will be the same anyway rob

F15 box yeah? corsa shafts are all the same iirc

ermmm im not sure its the box off my x12xe, i just thought a closer ratio box means quicker acceleration..

the gearbox will effect both speed and acceleration, but theres no point in having a box to highly geared for your engine

should be quicker! 1.2 runs an f13 box IIRC...

F16WR box is very looonnnggg!

Its a compromise - what you lose in acceleration you gain in top end speed and fuel economy as for every constant the revs are lower with a longer box.
