Right….
There is a noise coming from the drivers side wheel, its like something is tight. Almost like a rubber sound. It’s louder when turn one way on the spot, don’t need to be moving. When driving the noise gets faster, when wheel is spinning faster.
THINGS WHICH I HAVE TRIED:
· Replaced wheel bearing
· Had tracking done (but the garage couldn’t move one track rod end so moved the other, but it drives straight if u hold wheel straight, if not steers left)
· Balancing done
I haven’t replaced the CV joint yet, but ordered one for tomorrow to try this.
THINGS WHICH STOPPED NOISE:
The one thing, which stopped it, was when I bought new front tyres 4 months ago. The noise went when put new tyres on. Now has come back. BUT I have just balanced tyres last week when noise come back thinking it was that, and it wasn’t.
This makes me think has the wheels been out of balance for the 4months making this noise come back???
ALSO tonight driving home in the snow, the noise wasn’t there????
This makes me think is it the contact between the tyres and the road. When there is snow there isn’t any friction between tyres and road.
Will the tracking be slightly out making this noise ?????

Simple things first - tyre catching on suspension component?
Brake caliper binding? Does your car pull to one side under braking?
CV gone as you say - or maybe rubber boot worn and slipping?
Power steering whining?

it "could" be the top rubber mount on the suspension, caused by being to dry. if u have tried all suggestions above and still does it spray some wd40 on the rubber mount. hope it helps

Not a tyre wear fault then! Will be interesting to see if the cv cures it!
