nah its not done like that anymore mav

you have to go there wait in the que for ages then they do abit of paperwork, i think just filling out the appropriate form then you have to wait a week for something to come back then you sign or do something to that then you send that off and it takes a further 3-4 weeks from then!

so i cant be botherd to go up to the office and wait for a couple of hours when i can just send it and wait an extra few days!

But i might have to if i cant figure out what i need and need to fill out

Not like that up here!
Just take all the docs fill out the form saying u want to put X reg number onto X car, they change your mot cert print of a new tax disc and photocopy your part of the v5 if havnt got a proper one thru yet give u the photocopy and then you can put your plates on

if you don't have the v5 dont worry take the green slip, sign the retention document and put the reg of the car it's going on in the little box on the right of the retention doc.like said though best going to the dvla local office to do it.you don't need to take your tax disc just photocopy it and send it at a later date once your plates are on.

yeah
if going to the office they will ask for your old tax disc and they keep it and give u a new one with new reg on it
if sending the form dont bother with tax disc, when you get the docs thru with new tax disc they will ask u to send old one
