Yeah they're Astra G.

Personally I would sink something in to the main beam unit. There's bound to be something suitable in the scrappy that you can either paint or get a proper orange bulb for whatever mount you find.

is it right that you have to leave the morrette indicators connected up, and run front indicators off the side repeaters, to stop them from flashing like mad

The total wattage has to be similar, or you can change the relay. Leaving both lights wired up is completely unnecessary.

No they must be in the correct position and bright enough, but their physical size doesn't matter.

Maybe its Road Vehicles Construction and Use or something, but there are certainly regulations regarding their position.

think they just need to be viewable from a certain distance and beyond, i.e. from 2m+ i assume they must be a set distance from the edge of the car too

The Morette supplied ones yeah, but thats just because they decided to put them there. I'm talking about UK law type regulations.
