you need to give it some beans to pump the liffters up, not easy when running engine in though, I had to rape the shoot out of mine to shut it up when it had new liffters

Technicly a modern engine doesn't need to be run in after new parts.

I've seen a good few new cars, corsa's included, drop the bottom end of the engine from being ragged to fcuk when new...

seen a 1.4 SRi Corsa C, 62 miles on the clock, going like crazy then BANG

Yea I'm only saying technicly... I would still go easy on it for a thousand or so miles so the lifters loosen up. Just saying that cos you still need to use the full rev range (obviously not to the redline though) to get the oil pumping round everything nicely.

try some engine flush treatment maybe theres a oil gallery blocked with some gasket sealer or sumthing, i wouldnt use any oil part from what vaux recommend on your engine, i caned my 8v once and i ticked loads then i gave it a rest and it never did it after! these ticks can be very hard and expensive to find!
