right just got car back from having some work done on it.
had the following replaced:
cam belt pulleys and tensioner
fan belt
waterpump
i am getting a wierd whiring noise cominf from my engone nr these three units and it increaees and decreases in pitch and speed as revs increase
any ideas???

hmm, im thinking somebody may have tightened the timing cover to tight, but then again i dunno, best to take it back cos u never know it may just go bang

i get the same  its like an engine grainy type of noise coming thru the vents

Sounds like they have tensioned the cambelt up too tight, take it back let em hear it and they will have to re-do it.

already have tension is fine
comin form the alternator area, so vauxhall havin a look tomoz

Could be the bearings in the alternator then. Take the alternator belt off and run it see if the noise stops.

usually means the alt belt is too tight.
