I'm sure its been asked a load of times...

Just bought one of those pro-tech 4-1 manifolds and im told u need to remove the ectotec bit, now i havent got a problem with doing that, just havent got a clue how...

once u remove it from the manifold, what else needs to removed/blanked off?

Any pics wud be ace!

it isnt just a case of removing the secondary air pump. the "ecotech" is just a name given for the differneces in the c16xe and x16xe

OOOOOOOOOOOk, well that thing that comes of the gay standard manifold, i need 2 get rid of that! cuz i cant run it with the 4-1 manifold on!

Something to do with the inlet ports, you need to fill in holes. Somone on Mig is doing it. You can just block off the secondary air pump and be done with it though.

So it will be alright just to remove the secondary air pump without damaging the engine? what else do i need to blank off then?

Errr, as far as I know, you blank off the sec air pump with a new gasket or two and a piece of metal cut from a coke tin or thin metal, but leave it in place with the wiring intact to prevent an ECU fault. You can then remove all the pipework and the exhaust manifold...

Both the c16xe and the x16xe were called "ecotec" by vauxhall!
