Not actually sure what intercooler this is, it is one that i got of e bay, the lad that done the conversion for me convinced me to bo for a bigger one!
The car is C20 LET, with f20.
standard management
loads of rebulid stiff such as gaskets, arp rod bolts, 1.9mm steal head hasket, new bearing etc.
samco hosing
chrome rocker cover
so atm it is standard, but i am contenplating a some kind or chip, but what i want is some way of keeping it ok on the mpg, as i use the car for work everyday!

Morepower and f20 =
I wuldnt unless you are thinkng of F8 as *most F20's will not take anyore torque before liquifying, how thick is the FMIC? Mine made my car very laggy, id consider a much smalerc one if i did it again

i know what you mean!
what did you do to compensate?
by chipping it will it sort it out?
i was not thinking about going mad?, i just wanted to go to about 250bhp?
is that still too much?

Like Jambo said, sort yourself out with a F28. They usually go for around £300 for a good working one. There us usually some on ebay.

Rich some people have used F20's with as muc has an EDS phase 2 chip, so long as you arent hammering it all day long **apparently wont break. My old LET corsa had an F20, with std power, took a hammering everyday never gave me any problems.
I used the forge universal FMIC which was big but very thick, it made it a bit gay to drive off boost, but i just lived with it, chipping wont make a differance as it will more than likely just raise boost, maybe an XE inlet cam would be a good Mod, adds about 20bhp, can be done for under £200.
Not sure how itl react with your F20 tho

It wasnt so much laggy when driving hard, just off bosst, around town driving etc.
My fastest 1/4mile was 14.4, it was my 1st day on the strip and my 3rd go. If i hadnt started like a fucking granny it would have been quicker!

a lot of it is how the car puts the power down. It really depends on how much money your willing to spend.

Mine was running 205/40/17 rubber no loss of traction etc, my wheels were heavy whcih would most probably add to the "laggy" feeling around town. Your wheels are smaller so shouldnt have that problem

Rich it lowers inlet temps, to avoid detonation and supply a big fresh supply of nicely dense cold air.
Trouble is u have to fill it up first the bigger it is the longer it takes = lag

2.25 inch bore is smaller than the std one on a cav/cally turbo, so wont be helping it much id say.

i have a let corsa with a f20 box running phase 2 and its fine,i have gone through 1 box in a year which is quite good, i dont rag it that often so thats probably why,but i would say get a f28 if your going to keep the car or increase the power. as for the intercooler i have quite a big one and havnt got lag, mines got 3" outlets but runs fine also got a 3" pipe running from downpipe with no cat.

morning
Corsa_Boi - what have you done to avoid the lag? is your intercooler as big as mine? i think i definatly need a new exhaust but its all about the money! so i will have to wait!
so what i wanted to do was just try to get it running right, then make some improvements once the cash situtaion has improved!
thanks for the advice lads

I had mine on my 1.4 corsa sport exhaust for about 2 weeks. I never really drove it hard, just incase.
My powerflow exhasut cost me £400
