Im tryng to fit an xe into a corsa. I was told Id need to extend the linkage. I used a 12mm gearbox spacer as this was what suited to get it to sit snugly. I cut the linkage and dad welded in a 12mm piece of flat bar to extend it over the gearbox spacer, being careful to keep the edges parallel so as to maintain the original alignment.

The plastic bar was obviously going to be too short, and the ends are horribly imprecise, so I made up a bar with rosejoints that was 12mm longer than std and fitted that.

I fitted the linkage tonight, and I have rev, 1, 3, 5. when you pull the lever back for 2nd or 4th it hits the steering rack mount which runs the length of the rack in the corsa, unlike the nova. Can anyone see what Im doing wrong? While the engine has plenty of torque, both 2nd and 4th might be quite useful!!

ended up making a bastard. I ised the corsa plate (s shaped thing) whichg wqas extended by 15mm. I then used the intermediate selector rod and bearing from a nova linkage, reversed the plastic block as in nova conversions, and then used my rosejointed crossvar as shown in the pics. Perfect shift with plenty of room!!

i like the rose joints. shouldn't think they'd be that noticeable for a gear selector though ??
i was driving mine on just odd gears for a while before Lee took his lump hammer to my bendy bit

makes a hell of a difference, like a quickshift as you dont have to take up the slack every time. Its precise tho, unlike a quickshift on std joints which is just shite.
I hate missing gears and like things that just feel right. This does now.
