I didnt say i was there, Its a figure of speech. But there were still plenty around when i was. I worked at Vauxhall 10 years ago.

Did i also mention My family worked there before i did?

The champion did only come in that colour there are loads of fakes around though and i dont belive there is anywhere (eg logbook) to say that its a champion?

Very odd this.

Definitely remember seeing at least one black/metalic black GTE in about '91 when they were brand new with full leather, the lattice wheels and the hide symbol. Saw at least one metalic grey one aswell.

Surprised me at the time because I thought they were only available in the metalic burgundy colour.

Bizarre.

bits werent always put on the cars though, so some would have got onto the black market, and ended up on normal GTEs

yeah, the bits went to dealers to be put on certain cars

obviously some dealers were lazy, so not all of them got the stickers for example, or the leather badge

i suppose for a brown envelope backhander some dealers might have put the bits on a different coloured car, but it shouldnt have happened, the intention was always for Red only

Hmm, I always thought they came from the factory like that, and that the hide badge thingy just denoted that the car had leather interior.

robs 100% right from what ive heard from relaible sources and read etc etc

also i know for a fact there is only a possibilty of 209 left, as shinee as some of you may know has broken somethign silly like 41 of them or something shocking

ive asked shinee about this before and he confirmed there was only 250 made, all in red (bordeux ?) and the connolly leather sticker was added as part of the pdi at vaux

they were only avalible to london dearlers as well, what every transferd may have happend between dealers is irrelevent

yep, im sure fad/lee will confirm, he also has a silly amount (12 ? ) off full champion interiours as well
