i think my starter motor has gone, was doing the usually of spraying carb cleaner into the inlet the car cuts off and i turn the key only to hear what sounds like a hoover
anyway of fixing this, the motor is working fine but isnt turning the engine over.

could have cracket the end of the starter pinion housing. happened on my starter once. starter would spin but the drive cog on the end wouldnt engage with the flywheel.

i take it that means u had to change urs.

yep, had to change it. £10 from a scrappy for a replacement

is it just two bolts and remove starter.
or du have to fiddle with it to get it out then place it in an exact position to get it back in again
any idea what size the bolts were and also does it just have a block connector on the back or something

gave it a few smacks today but nothing, doesnt look like there is much room to get at it
altho im assuming the bolts r easy to get to
