It is possible to turbocharge pretty much any petrol engine. I'm currently in the process of fitting throttle bodies to my a spare 1.2 engine just to see what it can do.

Well i went to a car show today and their was a 1.1 Chinchento turbo their, which is faster than a saxo vts. so i am sure a 1.2 will be fairly quick

i have seen a picture of a turbo x16xe they used the inlet of a daewoo

would imagine you can get a 1.2 16v turbo`d would not bother touching the 8 valve engines

Can make it as fast as you like, depends how much coin your willing to throw at it. 1.1 turbocharged Seicento would probably be fairly fast because it only weighs about 750Kg

I dont know how strong the standard 1.2 bottom end is. Obviously its not designed for mad power. I don't think it will handle much more than 100bhp. If i get hold of another spare one then i might try running a 75bhp shot of nitrous through it and see how it likes it.

For the price of the turbo you could buy a car with 90bhp.

PMSL, a turbo from a diesel will get chewed up by the exhaust fumes from a petrol engine

also, diesels run lower pressure turbos, so it wouldnt give you much extra power to be honest

its just not worth it

I'd use a GT12 or GT15 turbo - £500. Your looking about a grand and a half to get it running on the cheap.

and for that money, its just not worth it.

1500 quid would get you an XE, and you'd have 105bhp more

1500 quid could get u a car newer than a 1.2 8v corsa with more than 90bhp.
Did you want a dump valve?

I understand the different thing.
Theres different and theres pissing money against a wall though.
Turboing a 1.2 8v would be the latter.

You can say that you are being different. But there is a reason why you are boing different and why no one has done this before.
