have had new rings, new valve seals, new valves, valve seats etc, block has been bored out and honed.

smokes like a chimney though, blue smoke as well

could it just be the assembly lube/oil burning off?

Does it run ok, have you done a few miles in it?

I'd say any oil/grease in there from the rebuild should burn off pretty quick mate.

i tried to take it round the block, and failed. the throttle pedal is VERY stiff, cant control the throttle ith it at all (all or nothing)

it seems to run ok, but lumpy but the bodies need balancing still. seemed to pull alright once it got going though (although nothing more than 3-3.5k rpm

mr marriott has told me his smoked for a day or 2 as well, and it was the coating inside the decat pipe burning off or something. also i'd say the insides of the exhaust manifold are maybe a bit greasy/oily as the outside was, and smoked like hell for a while

i've just been reading about it on another website

it claimed that until the piston rings have bedded in properly, the engine will smoke

yes it will smoke a bit whilst being bedded in.

could also be running a bit rich as well if the throttles arent balanced. this can cause a bit of smoke but mostly black/grey.
