About how long will it take for 2 people with a fair bit of car knowledge, although never tried lowering before? Is it an easy job?

For people with no experience i'd allow a couple of hours to make sure you get everything right.

nah its easy.

17mm socket and big ass breaker for the rear lower shock mounts, 17mm also for the top nuts.

you need an offset spanner, 18mm iirc (its been a while) for the front shock top nut. My top tip is to just get it loosened but not fully before anything else. lower shock to swivel hub nuts/bolts are 18mm also.

you need to figure which sort of shocks are on the front as to the tools required to get the springs off (some shock tubes need a hex key and some a 9mm socket if i remember). SPRING COMPRESSORS ARE A MUST.

And finally the nuts holding the entire strut assembly into the turret are 12mm i think

on the front you do otherwise you may end up loosing body parts when the springs let rip

took me and a mate about 1/2 a day... but we had to go see mr mechanic to swap the new springs with old ones on the front struts
