rob hayes had a vx220/elise one, and it was an arse to get the speed to read right iirc

The speedo is a 0-12V input, 625Hz = 100MPH. You will need to find a way of generating a speed signal, or a way of getting this frequency of signal to the dash speedo wire.
The tacho is suitable for a waisted spark system. On a distributor based system the tacho would read double the actual RPM. Again, this is a 0-12V input. This can just be put on the low side of a coil.

i used that wiring diagram for mine, the transducer was the problem in the end. i had the speed reading accurately upto 30mph but after that it reset back to 0 

got bored of that though (is for sale.....)
