I'd say about £10m+
It's not just the fact he is out, it's the fact they are now stuffed as a team, can loose money for this for not qualifying in champs league / uefa etc etc
That will be Newcastles argument anyway...
I personally don't think he will play again for Newcastle, if he does he will never be the same!

I think the FA should pay Owen's wages whilst he's unable to do anything and also pay for the medical treatment
Apparantly the FA are currently willing to pay a % of his wages and freddy shepherd had taken out further insurance to cover the rest.
He's already contacted his lawyers though as apparently the FA have offered man utd more if anything happens to rooney.

I don't get it, why should anyone pay anything? Surely its part and parcel of being a football player?!

Freddy shepherd doesnt want to pay him £103,000 a week for doing nothing though

Then Freddie Sheppard shouldn't of put him on a contract which pays £103,000 a week when something like this can happen.
IMO of course

The FA has broke one of freddies most valuable tools? Do you think they should pay to have it repaired? I think so

The insurance should. What happens to normal people in everyday jobs if something happens which means they can't work? not really up on it.
Would rather see FA putting 103k a week into football in the community rather than paying some crocked footballer stupid amounts of money a week.
2 weeks wages is more than most will earn in a lifetime! i'm sure Owen could have saved for 2 week somewhere down the line!

They shouldnt get anything, its a risk they take letting him play Itnl football and its a risk Owen takes deciding to play for them.
Cisse broke his leg playing for France and we'll get nothing for that, and we were planning on selling him for 8mil+.

The FA broke him? How did the FA break him? He broke himself!
Ok next time England won't take their best players incase they get injured as the FA don't want to pay out millions in compensation.
I can see the team we'll be taking to Euro 2008 then......
This fucking "blame and claim" trend in this country now is fucking wank - imo of course

so if newcastle can get compensation for Owen then, Liverpool should get compensation for Cisse...
like said above i think its just part of the game... its very unfortunate that he's injured but it was Newcastle's decision to put him on £103k a week and they knew about the possibilities of injury especially after his injury history

I can't see them getting a lot to be honest. Of course I have nothing to back this theory up, just my opinion!!!
