pros and cons?
been offered a 40" Thompson rear projection, about 2 years old he wants £350 for it.

personally i would stay away as the picture and viewing angles and pretty poor (even then new ones) and are just a cheap method of getting a big telly.

I receently bought a second hand 52" one (£300)
Yes you lose some sharpness in the picture, but watching the world cup on it has been immense!
I personally love mine and for the money you can't go wrong imo.
