Course they will, will be slightly slower but i doubt you'll notice it. Especially if your used to a 1.4 with the 17's.

17's won't slow it down that much on the 2.0 but handling may be pretty crap..

Personally I had 15's on my XE and loved it, dropped 60mm. Koni's.

Well if you start with the 17's with your XE you wont know any different anyway, for all you know it might not be making a difference. I would'nt worry about it.

Its not just the size of the wheel, its the weight. The heavier the wheel the slower the wheel can spin up the lighter it is the quicker it will spin up/accelerate. You can think of it as a flywheel, a lightened one spins up quicker.

Personally I'd go for 15's. 17's with the right profile will give you the same rolling radius but, the tyres will be like rubber bands and it will tram line like a bitch.

My mate had 15s on his, then put 17s on and was disappointed with how much it spoiled the performance.

Try 16s IMO. Also try to get some lightweight rims like ROTAs, as the unsprung weight of the vehicle has a big impact.

The profile on my 17'' at the mo are 205/40/17 but there a cheap Make...Hence why im gonna get some uniroyals...They aint that heavy tbh ive lifted quite a few 17'' and they are quite light.
yeah Adam i will but looks is the main part here but i want it to be quicker than my sport...want that Cut feeling when u floor it...

Im gonna have to have a go of a Xe corsa...

Ash there aint much weight in my corsa just leather interior and a 10'' sub box thats it and no massive kit id say around 1000kg tbh...

No, I said unsprung weight, ie the weight of the wheels/brakes, everything on the road side of the suspension if you get me.
