apparently Ribery pledged his future to Marseille (sp) last night......thought he had announced he wants to leave

Also heard that Real are going to offer Baptista as part of the Reyes deal!

As has already been said Carrick and Ribery are very different players. I don't think he is worth £18m at the moment however he is now at one of the best clubs in the world so he will make the most of his potential. We don't need a fast attacking midfielder we already have Ronaldo, Giggs and J S Park for that we need someone to control the midfield. I think that in the hypothetical debate United signed the right player for their needs.
