United's Adriano Bid
United are poised to bid for Brazilian superstar Adriano as Ruud van Nistelrooy's replacement. United officials have been privately talking about an imminent arrival "on the scale of Wayne Rooney" and Adriano, 24, has emerged as boss Sir Alex Ferguson's top summer transfer target. Inter Milan are ready to listen to United's offer for the striker, who fell out with coach Roberto Mancini last season.
Again, cant see it happening. Other strikers still being linked are Tevez, Torres, and Kuyt.
Thoughts on this? and do you think utd will actually bring in a striker to add to Rooney, Saha, Smith, Solskjaer and Rossi?

Why get rid of Van Nistelrooy in the first place? Ridiculous if you ask me.

Inter's President has been quoted as saying he sint going anywhere (on skysports website) so doubt he'll be going anywhere. Plus he would cost over £25mil IMO (didnt they turn down a huge money offer from Chelsea last year?)
I think you could get Kuyt if you went for him, and he is around the price range you could afford (i.e. not over £25mil like the others would!), maybe Tevez at a push but think others bidding will push his price up.
Agree with OJC though, stupid bit of business selling RVN at all, let alone for that price!

Just turned 30, maybe they thought now was a good time to replace him, or maybe he was still pissed at being dropped from the last game of the season. He isn't going to keep scoring 25+ goals a season for much longer.
Or, maybe it was a huge mistake and we're doomed!

RVN fell out with Ferguson much in the same way Beckham did, nothing much you can do to keep them after that happens.
I dont think theres another striker like a Shevchenko or an Henry on the market so man u are pretty stumped, Kuyt and Torres etc just aren't at that prolific level.

I'd be amazed if it were to be Adriano, I'd say it's more likely to be Trezeguet or Ronaldo as he is out of sorts at Réal

Man Utd's tranfers situation is (for me) the most exciting.
Im hoping for two new midfielders, and a striker.

Makes sense as the player making way for Ibrahamovic will be martins, so why sell Adriano?
