Just changed from Telewest Complete (4mb) to Standard 2mb connection &.................it seems to be quicker now than before

Also changed the phone to 200 minutes talk anywhere & dropped the TV down to basic package (never watch it anyway)

2 Possible reasons.

1. It just 'seems' faster, but really isnt at all (bandwidth over ~1-2mb has little to no effect on webpages unless they are very image/flash/video heavy)

2. You were on a poor upstream channel that cause your connection to be slow. When you downgraded and you modem rebooted for the new config file and it placed you on a different (better) upstream channel.

You'll never know if 2 is true unless you know what channel its was one before or have some trace routes taken before you downgraded.

[pedant-mode ON]

The intRAnet will be exactly the same speed, since that's your internal network......the intERnet may seem quicker!

[pedant-mode OFF]
