okay, rca go from headunit to amp right...
battery goes from battery to amp...
earth goes from amp to screw or something metal...
remote!? how does this connect to the headunit?
where does the actual power come from? like to test that the amp still works (its been a while!) is it the battery or the headunit?

Remote lead goes onto the blue wire from you headunit. The amps power comes fromt he battery, the remote lead is a switch to tell the amp to turn on

oh okay, cheers. cause i connected the amp to the battery expecting the power light to come on but it didnt.
guess it was cause the remote wasnt installed!
