Ive been searching through previous posts on the S2K forum and everyone seems to reccomend Toyo T1R's.

Question i ask is why are some people stating to get 245/45/ R16 when the car currently has 225/50/r16 on? ( and thats the standard size)

The local tyre place cant get any 245/45/ R16 until 31st Aug but they can get 225/50/r16 tomorrow?

what benifit would you have having the 245s over the 225s

Will they be ok? im not to clued up on tyres and what not???

245's will be wider mate so a bigger area to grip the road with, thus more traction

The 225 or 245 part is the width and the 45 or 50 bit the profile which is basically a % of the width the 16 is obviously the rim size hope this helps

I find 50 depth tyres to large, look gash.

Bigger contact patch and less sidewall flex plus looks are the advantage.

Price will be higher obviously and wait for them.

Depends how much you want them

Not forgetting a lower coefficient of friction, thus less surface pressure, thus more danger of aquaplaning and they'll be absolutely terrible in the frost and snow.

yes, dont forget that wider tyres doesnt neccesarily mean better.

in certain road conditions you might have more grip, but when they let go you will probably not get much warning.

Why not just leave them, surely if it would really benefit from them they would have them on from factory and as already said, if they do let go in the wet it will be a nightmare.

What is supposed to be the benefit of changing?

The S2000 is sold with Bridgestone S02's which are designed specificly for the car, however they have a small rain channel and in the wet they can be a bit twitchy.

However i currently have Avon ZZ3's which are not bad tyres BUT since ive owned RWD cars for the last 3 years ive grown fond to a different driving style, put it this way i like to hang the ass out on any right hand turns

thus my rears are like this

And that is why i need new tyres

You sure theres no worn bushes or anything, that kind of wear does'nt look like just a bit of sideways action. If it was me i'd just fit what is supposed to be there.

If its the inside on the other side then that would suggest its your 'driving style' if thats the case Nice one.

think the tyre walls give in quite abit when stepping out , the 245's would probally stop this.
