Hi Guys,
Soon to be taking my test (late starter I know as i'm actually 22) and buying my first motor - a Corsa! I've seen one that's took my fancy and has quite a bit of asthetic work done to it, no performance enhancements at all though. It's a standard 1.4 so cheap tax and cheapish insurance.
Was just wondering how the mods will affect the insurance?

Hi,
What mods does the car have? As stated, best to declare ALL mod's as failure to do so will result in your insurance being VOID.
Try Brentacre, Endsleigh, RAC and Norwich Union for insurance companies they are generally good with mods on young drivers

It really depends on the insurer. Some insurers allow any mods so long as they dont increase performance others allow none at all or charge 10% per mod....
It's best to get a spec of your car and mods done then contact some different insurers to find out prices.

Tinted Windows
Dual Exhaust
Pipercross Induction Kit
Alarm
Full Wiring Kit
Mono Chrome Steering Wheel
Chrome Foot Pedals
Clear Light Conversion
Side Mirror Upgrades
Obviously the induction kit is not athetic as such and could up the insurance.

I was with Norwich Union, and didnt decalre my mods, then when sum1 crashed into me they asked me if i had modified the car, i told them what i have done n that didnt effect my claim

will all put insurance up as they make it faster or more appealing to thiefs
