Been looking through the archive to try and find out what wire to cut in order to get the MFD to display the date when using a non-OE stereo (as when my Kenwood is turned on it goes blank),

Some posts say the blue wire from the headunit, other say grey with red tracer?

This is on a Corsa B GSi.

Cover up the remote or remote aerial pin on the headunit with a bit of tape.

I'm pretty sure that my "remote" aerial power wire connects to my amp?

What colour is this wire of which you speak?

Blue.
It will go to the amp if you have one.
Cover it up on the car loom side.

Well if I cover it up then no remote power to my amp - so that rules out that option

So what wire is it that goes to the MFD that I have to snip?

John, by doing that your also would loose power to your cars aerial base amplifier which significantly reduces radio quality. IIRC, there is a wire which is white and red which is a 'jump' wire from one harness to the other which needs to be cut.

there should be a red and grey/brown wire in the loom at the back of the nead unit, cut this and the date will always be shown

Cutting that wire won't.

I hadn't even considered the aerial amp becuse its always worked fine when i've done it.
