its ticking over at 1200-2000 rpm, thought retarding it mite do it some good?

you cant its a non adjustable dis-pak.check all your vacum pipes for leaks.if that dosent work try taking your temp sensor out the back of the head and giving it a light clean with some sand paper.

Yea, that would be caused by al electrical fault, or possibly a sticky throttle body.

Check the accelerator cable isn't adjusted too tight.

ill check all these, think there is a small hole in manifol, will get this sorted that mite make it better?

i had this problem. take your pipe off which holds the air filter to the throttle body. there is a temperature sensor in the back of the throttle body. take this out and spray it with WD40 then it should work. if this fails, spray some carb cleaner down the throttle body while revving the engine slightly. this will free the butterfly if it is sticking slightly.
