Shame to see this happen. I do have a question however, in your experience what was the best wet tyre you used?

Other than a full racing wet?
I find R888s pretty damn good in the wet. Better than Avon ZZR and MILES better than Michi pilot sport cups.
Make sure they have decent tread, a little more air in them that you would run in the dry, and if you have many sets.... cut a couple of grooves in them to help channel the water. The softer the compound the better.

Yeah I can't use a full racing wet as its only e marked tyres allowed. I use r888's in wet/damp conditions. But I was mainly thinking if I'm racing on a track with alot of standing water would I want something like a uniroyal rainsport or michilien ps3. I race in trackday trophy which is a 45 minute race. Last race is in November, so surely it will rain lol

i've used 'normal' road tyres on track in the wet... they are crap.
You shouldn't get too much standing water in a race. 'cut' semi slicks (888 etc) or a more specialised 'wet' 1b would be your best bet. I dont know of any off the top of my head.

soft though.... you want a soft compound.
GG (med) 888s are fine on our 1200kg cars, so something softer.
048's / DZ03G arent much use
