either a faulty Knock sensor or Crank sensor. could even be a bad earth.

the engine light only comes on for about 10 seconds then goes off again, when the lights on the engine seems to be fine

knock sensor faults are common when other sensors fail. sometimes they are false.
check teh crank sensor is clean and no dirt has got jammed round it.

it will either be the sensor or the plug has come off probably. if it doesnt sort it u may have to run new wires straight to the pins on the ecu. if that is the case let me know and il tell u what pins
