i got my x reg fiesta from a salvage yard for 530quid, it was a cat c but that doesn't make much difference to me because i did all work on it myself and i'm keeping the car for a few years so resale value isn't in my head at the moment,

i've fixed the body work, smoothed everything, full respray, new bumpers and skirts, all new interior, new lights, coilovers and new wheels for around 1400, when a car the same year that hasn't been written off would be around 2500 standard

its certainly the way to go to get a cheap car if your going to keep it, not much profit if your going to sell straight on though

woodwards, that's exactly the kind of thing I'm after. I'm thinking that a track car doesnt need to look good, so I might as well buy something with tatty bodywork, but a decent engine.

where did you get yours? auctions?

salvage auctions in northwest near liverpool, i'm always there though, will be going again next week to look for a track toy, something along lines of 200sx
