Nothing exciting going on here..

God a small urge of motiviation yesterday afternoon. spent a couple of hours sorting my stockpile of vauxhall bits, and a couple of bits on the car.

1. High build primered the Dimpled plastic boot catch, flatted back and ready for paint. Now smooth as you like.

2. Cut away at slam panel above drivers headlamp to allow more room for AFM-Turbo pipe.

3. My GSi bumper off ebay had the ends butchered for bigger wheels i presume, in cutting the end lips off they'd also cut the mounting points to the arches. Not alot i can do here, so i got hold of a standard corsa bumper and cut the ends off. a little bit of cutting and shutting and i now have a gsi bumper that fits on all existing mountings with no dodgy self tappers. difficult to explain this so pics to follow.

4. Sourced some Vectra GSi 2.6 Rear disks, calipers and hubs ready for the 5 stud rear disk conversion

5. Before Xmas i bought a brand new Spax RSX Coilover kit ready for the car too. Height and ride adjuistable

What remains is to paint the front bumper, 2 jacking covers, boot handle and repaint drivers side front wing. Engine bay needs a tidy up and also need to purchase a slim line fan! Once the 5 stud rear is done and the suspension is on, its going to be all in all roadworthy and almost finished bar a few finishing touches.

PHOTOS!
Engine Going In..(Old Pics)

After moving some water pipes about, air filter support bracket, mods to the slam panel etc..

After a degrease and steam clean today..

Now time to smarten a few things up around the coil and driverside turret wiring.

The GSi Bumper Issues as mentioned above.. very much work in progress, but at least its mounted correctly!

Cut and Bond parts from an standard old corsa bumper

First skim of fibreglass to smooth the bump a bit

And as she sits waiting for Paint, 5 Stud rears and Coilovers!!
