Some of you may recognise it as Rob B's old corsa. I bought it a few months back with no lights, bumper, wheels, suspension or engine.

i quickly sourced a set of front and rear lights and got them fitted along with the front bumper and set of Corsa C SXi alloys(cheers to Dave A).
i then bought a badgeless slatted grille and fitted that

i then got to work on stripping all of the useful parts from under the bonnet
i removed the head which was to be sent off to CorsaGsi_DK

I then realised it needed some smoked headlights so bought and fitted a set of them too

I eventually got round to removing the old block, box and remaining bits.

I then found myself a new engine and box (from lain M )

and then removed the box to have a good clean and also removed all the un-necessary stuff from it such as the aircon and PAS pump.

and put it back it together
and fitting the new sachs clutch kit.

but before giving the new engine a home there was the big issue of the seriously shoddy wiring
so on the phone to Dave A it was and he came down and sorted it

i then had to get a custom belt for the alternator and make a custom bracket as there is no tensioner and only the alternator runs off the bottom pulley
unfortunately didnt get any pics of the engine being fitted( far too busy so forgot)

and the sorta finished article

after whilst fitting the engine i also fitted a set of koni adjustables.

will get better pics and keep you all updated on further progress.

big thanks to Dave A for the excellent work he done with the wiring and all his help. And all other people who sold me the bits for the car

the wiring on this car was an absolute nightmare as it was originally a 1.2 16v that had then been converted to a 1.6. the wiring someone had done was an absolute pisstake, infact it was a fire hazard. somehow the car had been running 3 fuel pump relays in series connected together with what looked like speaker cable.

So we had to strip out the entire car loom and start again. ended up rewiring the alarm system in properly and eventually got it all running.

This engine will be running a few clever mods soon as well so keep the updates coming

well,
havent done any work on the car for a long time so this week i thought id strip the rear completely and give it a spray over to tidy it up,

then since the car has sat on the drive all winter, i also decided to give it a wash and polish.

(havent yet got a cd player, as you can see i bodged the hole with some checkerplate)

Thats all for now

managed to get the car down to have some expert treatment from Dave at Vsport, exhaust was blowing and brakes needed some attention. was shocked to see the state of the exhaust underneath, a so called stainless 'powerflow' exhaust had rusted and was falling off. welds had cracked and been covered up with exhaust paste as well

so we sorted that problem out and then noticed the design of the backbox was awfull for exhaust flow:

so we sorted that and fitted a nicer tailpipe than the one that was fitted:
