thats where the clunking noise was coming from. i took the diff plate off and turned it by hand. there isnt any noise so am thinking its only when your in gear that it does it.

if i bought a second hand gearbox would i get a diff with it?

you will get a diff but not a LSD, if thats what you mean

yeah thats fine, i might buy a second hand box and put it on and get a short shift linkage. if that sorts the problem then am happy.

there is little ball type things of shavings of metal in the diff. i take it this is normal.

when i wrecked the diff on my x14, i couldnt get one wheel to spin indipendantly..both wheels were almost locked 2gether

so you think i should just try another box?
for the price that they go for i think i'd be aswell.

also got the digi dash to fit joy
