I might be going about this completely the wrong way. Anyway, managed to get hold of a working AFM which solved the original problems I had. However, when stopping at traffic lights etc it drops and idles at around 500 and feels like its about to stall (occasionaly happens as soon as the car is started too). I know this sounds like an ICV problem but this never used to happen with the old AFM before it broke. Ive been trying to adjust the screw on the AFM to see if maybe this was setup differently but this does not seem to alter anything at all, even after the lambda sensor is unplugged nothin changes when the screw position is changed. Is this normal?

Personally i wouldnt fewk with the AFM screw unless you've got the gear to set the car up properly.
It could be the ICV.

Yeh can understand that mate, but my dads a mechanic and made sure that anything that was changed was put back identical to how it started. What I couldn't understand though is why nothing changed at all when the screw was adjusted. I know that the lambda does the job of that screw but when the lambda is unplugged thought that adjusting the screw actually makes a difference

no, when the lambda is unplugged the ecu replaces the lambda signal with a pre determined value.
