whats better to get a louder noise from the exhaust? would changing the silencer make any diff? i no if you take the cat out it is illegal so any other suggestions would be welcomed.

Its not illegal but will fail MOT if it hasnt got a cat when its supposed to. Any car after a K reg should have a cat.

To get a better noise out of a car the best bet is to get a performance exhaust - cat back would be best for you if your worried about removing the cat

what about taking out the centre silencer or muffler (are they the same thing) and putting in a performance one or something

i got a aftermarket exhaust on there at mo

only a 1.2 im afraid. sounds ok at the moment just want that little bit extra lol

You can take the middle section out but all it will do is make it raspy.

Will also be losing back pressure by removing a silencer

i did hear bout that somewhere loosing back pressure. can you get a performance silencer or somthing along those lines ?

backpressure is not necessary on a 4stroke.........
very few companys flowtest there exhausts anyways

what the hell is back pressure? you would never want any sort of pressure in the exhaust, you want the exhaust gas to be removed from the cylinders, not forced back into them!
