Hi guys, I've got a Corsa B 1993 at the mo with some Alpine SXS 1757 components up front (6.5" woofer). I had these as I was running them from my head unit (JVC KD G611) and thus didn't want a crossover sapping power. These just use a capacitor in line for the tweeter to block bass essentially.

Now, I'm selling my car and buying another Corsa but something newer less miles etc etc. I am NOT fitting these in again because due to their size I had to cut away door metal, hammer the holes wide where magnets go through and chop plastic from the door pockets as the woofers hit the edges etc... basically due to the hassle I am gonna use 5.25" comps now. I'll be using the same head unit.

Are there any speakers of good quality, easy to drive, dont use a crossover but instead a bass blocker making wiring dead simple and not sapping power? That way I can also use the original corsa wiring as it splits off to the woofer and tweeter and simply put the bass blocking capacitor right next to the tweeter to saves pissing about like I did last time and having wires catching on the windows lol.

I was looking at the smaller SXS 1357's by Alpine but want some alternatives which sound as good if not better than these. I am assuming they sound fairly similar to the 6.5" versions that I have already which are acceptable to me for a cheapo install.

Ideas and opinions?

how luckys that lol.. the sxs1757's are deeper speakers as they can take a lot more power but... i dunno wether to say sod it just re-use them or buy smaller ones to save hassle cuz they sound alright for what they are!

The Vibe SA-K 6.5" series will be perfect for you as they have an inline crossover making it a peace of pizzeh to fit, and no metal cutting required.

if they're as good as my sxs 1757;s but go in without ANY pissing about (and im talking corsa b front doors specifically lol) then i may order some of those and use the boggo vauxhall wiring as using my own wire last time from woofer to tweeter caused problems with the wires catching on the window when being wound up and down... put the inline thing right up near the tweeter on the vaux wiring
