Has your engine management light come on? If it has, then you can do a paper clip test and see what faults it returns. Search the forum, there are various threads on how to do this - Vauxhall offer the service too as will any garage with computer diagnostics.
This is the Engine Management Light (EML):

Depends - if it ha stayed on for at least 30 seconds, a code would have been logged then you can find out the problem. Either do it with the paper clip test (search on here for how to do it) or take it to a garage with diagnostic equipment!

Mine had this problem. I had a few things replaced which were needing replaced anyway. Air Flow Meter, Starter Motor, Idle switch (can someone tell me if thats the correct name for it ?) And had the engine tuned and now it works fine.
If you got a new Air flow meter fitted i think you have to disconnect you batter for... 2hrs i think ? Just to reset the EM. (or is that ECU?)
Someone correct me if i'm wrong please.
Also check the air flow meter is on the correct way. I took mine too two different garages and they didn't realise that the air flow meter was on backwards.
The arrow should be pointing towards the air flow meter.

I think all garages are the same. I had a similar problem. They plugged a computer in and it said i needed a new airflow meter and crank shaft sensor. So i replaced them and still had the problem - Much the same as yours. In the end i just had the engine tuned, new starter motor fitted and idle control valve. It seemed to fix the problem.
I only needed the starter motor because after my dad having a look at it he buggered it and it would start.
