Supposedly bleeds air from your braking system. Not good

had one on my old 1.4

did get a better fuel comsumption. the brake servo vacuum pipe accounts for about 5% of your air intake. all it does is open up when there is more vacuum (ie greater need for air).

so in theory when it wants more air to run properly, this lets it get it.

i saw slight better mpg with mine, and never had a problem with it, turned it down so it didn't rasp and only worked when there was more vacuum and not just coasting along.

plus there is a no return valve on brake servo, so won't cause brake problems if fitted correctly.

what a load of rubbish

brake servo vaccum hose is to supply a vaccum feed to the brake servo. no matter wether the engine needs more air or not, any air added in after the icv or throttle plate isnt going to help things whatsoever.

if anything they will reduce performance due to the MAP sensor (where fitted) having a lower manifold absolute pressure reading which will cause the engine to run slightly rich then the lambda sensor will sense this leaning out the mixture slightly and putting you back to square 1.

eco valve thingys are pointless. basicly just an air leak, if you want just drill a small hole in a vaccum pipe, will have the same effect.
