good way to get in for a job, find some places you want to work at, and write them a letter, even if they dont have anything, if you make a good enough impression they'll remember you

try to find the name of the company which is on the agencies; if you approach them directly you'll save them the agency fee and make first contact. Phone and ask for a name to send your CV to, as opposed to just sending it to the company'un-named'
I did it this way, I phoned on the Thursday, was interviewed on the Friday and started on the Monday

Send your CV and a covering letter to all the companies you would like to work at. I have got two jobs using this method.

I always check the local papers and occasionally browse the net, i find the better jobs are posted in the local paper and dont usually make it on the net,
and whilst were on this topic, i have an interview today with the local constabulary, which was advertised in the local paper.

I know how your feeling Munchie. I've spent 6 years at uni doing a HND and Degree but looking through the jobs there is not much out there. Then when i do apply i will get knocked back. We just need someone to give us a chance!
My placement was a complete waste of time, good fun, but a waste of time. Only think i acheived from it was confidence.
