They're too big, you need R6 ones.
Not sure on the price, google 'bogg brothers' and ring/e-mail them.

How are 40mm carbs too big for a 1600? R6 carbs are only 38mm.

Going by the guide that was in Total Vauxhall, R1 ones are too large for a standard 1600.

40mm is ideal for mid-high way performance. The C16XE heads flow that well that 38mm would choke it high end.
