i don't get it..... why would new standard corsa wiper arms make a difference? its gonna be the same thing ain't it?
or do wiper arms get weaker over time?
adam - blades are fine... just a shakey motion when traveling at speed

they get weaker and have play in them
and get a hot soapy cloth and run it up the blade of the wiper, then tell me there fine

When you say shakey at speed do you mean travelling along at speed with your wipers on? If so possibly weak wiper motor.

yeah thats what i mean @ Corsa phil. If i'm travelling at 80mph on the mway and its raining then it's very hard to see so the wiper had a jerky motion and don't clean the window properly

Shouldnt be travveling at 80mph, try 70mph, see if that makes a difference
I need new wiper arms, mine go down the window, and quite often decide to wipe the scuttle for me aswell

bosh blades were the biggest pile of poo ive ever seen. 4,000 miles with hardly any wet driving and they were already missing parts of the screen.

i've noticed on my last 2 corsas, at over 70ish mph, they bounce across the windscreen.
maybe something to do with the spring in the arm? or blades and blade housing a wee bit old.
or maybe vaux do it on purpose to stop us speeding in the rain

will be the shape of them, with the air comming up off the front and over the windscreen it will either press them on to the screen more or lift them up a bit, mine does it

I reckon motor. All the springs do is hold the wiper down on the windscreen whereas the motor and linkage moves them. If doing 80 mph there's a fair bit of wind trying to move your wipers and then the motors trying to move them steadily aswell. My wipers used to go half way up my windscreen at anything over 120.
I changed to single wiper and it solved the juddery motion whilst wiping as the mechanism makes the wiper cover all the screen in the same time so it speeds it up.

I 2nd that - mine does it sometimes and sometimes not. Normally when I'm driving into the wind.
Aparently vinegar is good for cleaning the blades though!

i get teh same problem, get yourself some wipers that have the little spoilers, so that at speed the air resistance pushes against the spoiler makingit sweep properly against the window!

Mine lift clean off the screen at 80+mph
I know that is speeding and blah blah but wipers lifting is plain bloody dangerous.
I don't want to fit chav wiper spoilers but I don't think there is much of an alternative
