We fitted a push button start for an old woman who has arthritus and could'nt turn the key right the way round against the spring in the ignition. I think she was just a boy racer.

Quite a few reports of the keys being taken and the numpties not realising a button needs to be depressed to start though*

*This usually is dependant on the button not having START on it though

Have the push button start where your in car cig lighter goes, then the ash tray can hide it.

We had a Yaris at my work that had a push button start, was wank, had to turn the key in ignition untill the lights were on, then press it, so you might aswell just turn the key that tiny bit extra.

cool cheers. if any i think ill get the richbrook one and put it in the ash tray thing so its hidden. and either use my key which will make it rather
pointless or somehow make one of them with a switch that i can hide somewhere else.

You can have the setup as in pic above for ignition and start, but also wire a battery cutoff switch hidden in car so that even if someone gets in they still cant start the car, because no power to the ignition switch. Ive done it in lots of my cars but also had no locks or door handles at all. Bit risky if flat battery but it never caught me out once

i wouldnt mind one. just the security issues with them and if i still used my key then it would be pointless.

You can wire things that you want to stay live to the live side of the battery cutoff switch and everything else stays as it is. I had an alarm on all mine (i needed 1 to get in the car)

There are push starts that don't require a key being put in a barrel, just for you to have the key in your pocket

iv got mine on push button and you do have to turn the key. however they do have security side because even if a thief did get your key it is another thing in the way of them driving your car off!!

my button is in no way marked start etc and is on the same panel as more switches.

thief would just think it is immobiliser.

but what i though is hide a normal switch somewhere only you no which would stop power to the button so even if they had your keys and new the button it wouldnt work!!
