Want to put a straight through pipe on the car and read in the haynes book that it is a complete system. is that right ? would a garage cut away the silencer and weld in a new pipe for me? (how much?) but i want to be able to take it off again if i dont like it
any help would be great cheers

you can get a garage to weld a bit of pipe in or buy a straight thru pipe if you have a pipe welded in then you will have to get a new centre section when you want to take it off

what model? ....most are a complete system from the cat to the backbox.....
im guessing you want a decat, and no centre silencer yeh?

its a 1.2. what i orginally had planned was to get another centre silencer and get silencer taken out or buy a straight thru and fit it myself like i did with backbox but i guess i cant do it like that can i?

you certainl;y can...
you would have to cut your original exhaust system roughly 1ft after the cat. and moset replacement exhausts simply sleeve over tho top.

but if it is a standard 1 i replace it with wont they be the same size and not fit over the top?

its flaired a bit, to allow it over the top...or they'll give you a sleeve to join them both 2gether...its difficult to explain.
or just take your car to an exhaust place, and ask them to replace ure silencer with a straight pipe.

the bit with a slit in both sides and you connect them and put a bolt over the top ?
if i take it to a exhaust place and get it cut out could i then get it put back in if i didnt like the sound?
