What about an incentive to get the public to grass up dodgy motors, say £20 a car. I could make a living out of that!!

And for the record my var is 100% road worthy has has never failed on anything major because i keep on top of the car and anything that neads fixing I get done ASAP.
Was just saying that it would be nice once sorted you have 2 years befor you go through it again.

IMO a year is too long
too many people go a year without maintaining it only for it to crop up come mot time
6 monthly checks would be a good idea

are cars are in great order, have you been abroad, were turning into a nanny culture because people keep putting up with it!!!
o and just to get all u 10 time a year MOt'ers fired up....... i used both front tires until they had gone to the wire until my MOT

2 years on slighty newer cars, say 6/7 years old. Older than that, then every year.

That won't make people get fired up. It'll make them think "that could be the twat that kills my child one day". An MOT every two years is a scandal. Anything can happen in one year, let alone two, to make a car a danger to the public.
