You don't have to, but as Topshot said, a remap will be needed for the best gains.

you cant remap the standard ecu on the x14xe though can you?

Yes, as long as the EPROM chip is changed for a re-writable one.

anyone have any idea what the best one would be to use? im useless with electrics and management, give me carbs any day of the week lol...

can you not jus disconnect the battery for a while and then the ecu will reset its self and it adjusts the the engine doesnt it?

i just stuck one on mine the other day pulls hard all the way to the limiter now. made more difference than spending 300 quid on the full exhaust system but it all helps

be prepared for a couple of hours swearing trying to get the throttle body off and the pipe from down the back of the engine or was it just me ?

Second that.

I still need to change TPS and ICV but im not going to attempt it until i get one of these manifolds lol. Too much bloody work
