i just wiped the hole lot off and i have a problem with it now this copy of windows is not activated so what do i do to get over it

you need your windows serial code, to activate windows, then click the little bubble to do so....

you might need to purchase a new liscence number for xp mate. or try using the serial that should be on the bottom of your laptop. then activate over the phone, rather than the net.
