Has your HU got a sub out? Or can you fade from your HU to the amp?
Can you post a pic of the nobs on the amp?
At the end of the day though, I like my bass to be in the background so you don't even know it's there.
However you might be different. Wanting very loud and deep bass.
If you can post a pic, i'll show you both ways and i'll need to know if you can fade the bass from the front.

Firstly turn off the system.
To setup the amp do as follows:
1. Turn the bass boost off
2. Bridge the 2 channels to run the sub (use +ve of one channel and -ve of the other channel)
3. turn on the LPF filter on the amp
4. set the gain to a quarter. on the amp
5. Now turn on the system and play a song which is three quarters volume on your headunit
example if your maximum headunit volume is 30 then play it at 20
6. Slowly turn the gain up untill the sub goes crazy and distorts. Then turn it down a touch. so its at the point where it isn't distorting.
and thats your amp settings sorted 
your headunit settings are more of a personal preference sort of setup. so just have a play around and listen to what sounds good.

You've forgotten to state the LPF frequency.
What do you listen to mate? As a general all round LPF use anywhere between 80hz and 125hz, try it out to see what you prefer.
